The plays are: Variations on the Death of Trotsky with the Russian revolutionary discovering a mountain-climber's axe in his head. The Philadelphia is a Twilight Zone -like state in which people cannot get anything they want, unless they ask for the opposite. Words Words Words shows us three lab monkeys sitting at typewriters attempting to produce Hamlet, as part of a scientific experiment. The Universal Language features Dawn, a young woman with a stutter, who seeks to learn Unamunda, a wild comic language so she may gain confidence in speaking with others. Philip Glass Buys a Loaf of Bread is a musical vignette parodying Glass who has a moment of existential crisis in a bakery. Sure Thing is a classic of contemporary comedy: two people meet in a cafe and find their way through a conversational minefield as an offstage bell interrupts their false starts, gaffes, and faux pas on their way to falling in love. All of the plays are being directed by Dr. Stephen A. Schrum, with the exception of The Philadelphia, which is being co-directed by two UC students, Suzanne Lawrence and Brian Roller (who are also acting in the production). Also, many of the student actors were last seen in Little Shop of Horrors at the UC campus. ========================================== Dr. Stephen A.
