Tom Dennehy
World traveler, musician, songwriter & performer (and sometimes elf)

Background
Tom Dennehy has studied khyal singing with Pt. S. G. Devasthali and Warren Senders in Pune, India. A graduate of Berklee College of Music, he is a composer, songwriter and specialist in novelty music.

Equal parts Tom Waits, Weird Al and Chopin, Tom is one of the most unique performers to come out of Central Pennsylvania. Originally from Danville, Tom is currently living and working in Spain. His mom has offered to help me fill in the gaps on this page, so check back for updates.

Tom is a vocal teacher in the style of his guru, Pt. S. G. Devasthali. Using a tamboura, the natural harmonic series is demonstrated for the student to use as a guide.

Tom also teaches music theory and other instruments. Contact him for more info.

Performing
Tom currently performs in a variety of genres. Classical piano, multi-lingual songs, original humorist material, as will as Hindustani folk song (with Bloomsburg to Bangladesh). Tom's performances are posted on the Bloomsburg /Danville area event calendar.

In his humorist set, Tom usually performs a combination of original and novelty material, with covers ranging from Weird Al, They Might Be Giants and other Dr. Demento favorites. Like the artists he covers, Tom writes serious pieces as well, and he can even be heard doing some fairly complex classical piano and fingerstyle arrangments.

Tom's performances are always memorable. Part music, part theatre, you never know what Tom might do. To illustrate, take a look at the pictures from his 2001 Phillip's Emporium performace in Bloomsburg, PA.
