Production & Recording

Akai I have been recording in a number of formats for over 15 years. Most of my recording is for my own album production, but I enjoy the challenge of recording other artists from time to time. Below are some projects I've worked on, and you can also check out my recording philosophy and studio specs.

Audio Consulting - Sometimes people just need a little help to get moving on their own projects. One of the more unique experiences I've had lately is doing some work with a local gentleman who is doing some work to preserve public memory of WWII. Read all about it here.

AudraVoice Overs - With Audra's talented voice (based on years of training and theatre), we can also offer professional voice overs for web sites, multimedia, training and video production. Our most recent client was Geisinger Health System.

Jeremy WrenchFoley & Location Recording - Over the years I've enjoyed experimenting with various found objects and have amassed quite a library of strange sounds. I can also produce sounds as needed. Here is an interesting experiment used on my album Immaculate Misconceptions: The dePrisco Gamelan

Bodo Band

The Bodó Band - The Bodó Band is a Hungarian folk group with which I performed in 2003. Much of our West Coast Tour was recorded on DAT using a portable recorder. For specific thoughts on this process, read on.

Bloom Consort

Bloom Consort is a Medieval/Rennaissance choral group who perform on period instruments and in period dress int he Bloomsburg area. They performed at St. John's Episcopal Church in Bloomsburg, PA. The live program was recorded direct to DAT with two condenser mikes. No effects were used in the final mastering, in order to keep the natural feel of this great sounding church.

Tom Dennehy

Tom Dennehy is a multi-talented performer and writer from Danville, PA. Occasionally we collaborate on projects such as Moonlight Masala and support each other for local gigs. I went to his home in Danville to record some piano tracks for his albums "City In A Fence" (CK2 , Evening , Canon in D Majorly , Living Room) and "hen na tanuki" (Miss Abeyama). For more about Tom, visit his page.

Hand-made instruments - Over the years I've experimented with building my own instruments, particularly percussion. Stomp Box 1.0 was an early attempt, which later culminated in the much more refined Bass Drum Contraption.

Back to Music

With a polyunsaturated diet of the coming 35-hour week, the fly-now-pay-later vacation, and fringe benefits, many of us live in a chromium-plated world where the major enemy we face is crab-grass. - John H. Glenn, Jr. 1963
