The Iphigenia Cycle

The Iphigenia Cycle consists of three parts:

The setting of the original plays was the beginning and aftermath of the Trojan War. This adaptation is set in the period 1957-1970.

A music theatre piece, The Iphigenia Cycle is not a traditional musical, but each play contains songs and choral odes written in a contemporary mode

The Iphigenia plays were produced at the Penn State Hazleton Campus in April of 1998; the music was composed and arranged by Jeremy dePrisco.

Steve Schrum is continuing work on the adaptation.

The remaining plays have as composer Brandon Spangler, and we hope to have the work completed for a presentation of the entire Cycle in Spring of 2000 at the University of Charleston.
