Shasta Mountain, Northern CA. My only regret was that we didn't stop to see the monks at Shasta Abbey, a Buddhist community near here.

Shasta, a man and his van (Alex).

Peoples Bizarre was one of the best acts we played with one the tour. Incredible arrangements and energy.

We stayed at Eric/Dan/Sarah's house in albany, CA while we were visiting San Francisco.

I stayed here, in their small studio (just like at home when I need to sleep in the studio to get some sleep).

American Chinese breakfast. Good shrimp omelets.

Of course, while in San Fran,, there are certain tourist activities one must do... like trolleys. We took the trolly from the Civic Center down to Fisherman's Wharf.

Fisherman's Wharf is a very touristy area with several attractions. There's also lots of birds that like to get their picture taken.

Another attraction is Musée Méchanique, a museum for old coin-operated entertainment devices. Music boxes, fortunetellers and other oddities.

From Fisherman's Wharf we took a boat out to Alcatraz.

Hoping my uncle in jail has a sense of humor, I sent him a postcard from Alcatraz. It turned out to be a hit with his inmates.

I was surprised by the beauty of Alcatraz...

... but everywhere there were signs of the island's rough past.

After returning to the mainland from Alcatraz, Béla and Katalin wanted to play on the street. I didn't have the string bass with me of course, so I just took pictures. They made $1.

Then, around the corner, we come across this sight.

Hundreds of sea lions... this one's name is Cecil. Cecil the Sealion. Most of them were sleeping, but as some of them turned over they would wake up the others, and they would get pissed off. The noises they made were something like Chewbacca and burbing.

From Fisherman's Wharf we walked about two miles (not blocks) to the club for our first night in San Fran, Bruno's.
